As I look back on this past year – what I want to say most is “WOW! What a journey it has been!” It has been quite an honor to hold the title of Mrs. New Jersey America. Going to the nationally televised Mrs. America TV Special was a memorable experience that I won’t soon forget. However, the memories that I cherish most are those with the people I have met along the way. I have been blessed to have the opportunity to help people  in need, embrace children  eager to listen & learn and converse with many special people who have all taught me something about humanity and about myself.   

             I still look back in disbelief that I won this prestigious title and have had the amazing opportunities that I have had.

             The journey was not about having a “title” but about what I could do with that title. I have been able to make a greater difference for moms in need with my charity “Maternal Wings” because of this title. The title gave me a new perspective on what I can achieve. I am proud to say that during my reign, I even completed my first half marathon in May which was a wonderful fundraiser for my charity. 

             I have received so much out of this past year and have learned from each and every wonderful experience that I have had.

             I am blessed to have in my life, the family and friends who have encouraged and supported me along the way. Their unwavering faith in me means the world. Thank you to my fabulous husband, Ken, you are truly a gift and you light up my soul. Thank you for your faith in me and your selfless sacrifices this past year. To my children,  Alexis & Luc, to whom I am princess Mommy when I adorn my crown, thank you for giving me the inspiration to want to make a better world for you – I love you more than words can ever express.

             To my mother and father, my mother & father-in-law and the rest of my family and friends...thank you for your love and the pride that you continue to shower me with.  It means the world. A special thank you to Kerry Walsh and Tracie Wainwright for being there to support me every second of every day. I love you all so very much.

             A sincere thank you to Geri Watson for the fabulous journey and giving me the confidence to join the world of pageantry with my dream; to Richard Krauss for your “gift” of dynamic photography; and to all of my sponsors to whom I am forever grateful.

             As I close this wonderful chapter in my life – I will crown my successor. I wish her all of the successes that I have had over the past year and I hope she utilizes this honor to make a difference, even if in some small way. I hope you cherish every moment of the ride and take away a lifetime of memories.

             I will forever cherish this past year and the rewards that it has given to me.   

             Remember, it is never too late to fulfill your dreams. Be the best “you”, you can be.
